DELIVERY:

We travelled to the site of an ancient hill fort near Wooler, Northumberland, to capture aerial imagery of the ruins and their surrounding hillside. We wanted to render a precise model for the purposes of demonstrating what we could achieve, but secondarily, we were joined by an award-winning cinematographer to capture some promotional footage for social media and our website.

In between the filming, we conducted a single 15-minute grid-pattern flight over the ruin, gathering 266 images from which we rendered the model below. Constructed of millions of individual triangulated points, precise 2D and 3D measurements can be conducted from the comfort and safety of an office, including the slope of the hillside, the surface area of the fort's interior, or even the volume of earth that forms its foundations.
